Fly over Dubai
A
video from the XDUBAI series, which was posted on YouTube.com on
May 11, has now gone viral. It shows Yves Rossy and Vince Reffet
wearing jet-propelled wings and flying over Dubai for about 12 minutes.
Rossy, a former fighter pilot and airline pilot, has 15 years of
flying experience. Reffet is a skydiver and base jumper. In the
video, the duo fly side-by-side and synchronize their movements
to steer themselves above the desert and Palm Islands.
Rossy has
been developing his jetpack for more than 20 years. Rossy said that
the jetpacks offer enough power to fly 50 kilometers. When the fliers
leap from an already airborne plane, the wings from the jetpacks
are open. And then, the fliers use their bodies and hand throttles,
which are the hand-operated levers that control the throttle valves,
to manipulate the flight. Rossy will share his wings and flying
techniques with those who want to fly in the sky.
